The Jobcenter Dortmund as a joint institution does not provide training itself. However, there are opportunities via the two sponsors - the Federal Employment Agency and the City of Dortmund - to be trained as a junior employee for use in the Jobcenter Dortmund.

The following training and study opportunities are offered by the Federal Employment Agency (BA):

• Study programs Labor Market Management (B.A.) or Counseling for Education, Career and Employment (B.A.) at the University of Applied Sciences of the Federal Employment Agency (HdBA)
• Apprenticeship Specialist for Labor Market Services

The following training and study opportunities are offered by the City of Dortmund:

• Administrator (middle-ranking civil servant) for employment at the Jobcenter Dortmund
• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) for employment at the Jobcenter Dortmund
