Your electricity costs are covered by your standard rate and must be paid to your electricity company by yourself. You can apply for the local absence conveniently by telephone at your responsible Jobcenter location.

If you are dependent on medical equipment for health reasons, the Jobcenter can grant you subsidies under certain conditions. This applies to the purchase and repairs of orthopedic shoes, repairs of therapeutic devices and equipment, and the rental of therapeutic devices. The DeutschlandTicket Sozial is an additional mobility offer from DSW21 for people who receive a citizen's allowance in Dortmund.The DeutschlandTicket Sozial is a monthly subscription that has been available for 39 euros per month since December 1, 2023. It allows federal use of local public transport and is aimed at the same group of beneficiaries as the <a href="https://jobcenterdortmund.de/de/articles/sozialticket-meinticket">SozialTicket</a>. The DeutschlandTicket Sozial is an additional offer. The Sozial Ticket will remain in place. The application process will not change for our customers. Schoolchildren under the age of 25 who attend a general or vocational school receive an allowance for school supplies (e.g. writing utensils, books, etc.). If pupils under the age of 25 live in your community of need, the benefit is automatically transferred to you at the beginning of each school semester with your regular citizen's allowance benefits. In addition, other so-called "benefits for education and participation (BuT)" can be applied for from the City of Dortmund. These include, for example, subsidies for school trips and lunchtime meals.
