Higher standard rates from January 01, 2024

From 01. January 2024, the standard rates for people who receive benefits from the Dortmund Jobcenter will increase (+ increase compared to 2023):

Single persons or single parents€563 (+€61)
Couples (per partner) in the BG*, if both are of legal age€506 (+€55)
18- to 24-year-olds in their parents' joint household*€451 (+€49)
14- to 17-year-olds in the BG*€471 (+€51)
Children from six to 13 years€390 (+€42)
Children up to five years€357 (+€39)
Children of full age in institutions (according to SGB XII)€451 (+€55)

Persons with an approval notice for 2024 will automatically receive the higher standard rates. A separate application for citizen's allowance is not required. Even if you have already submitted an application and have not yet been notified, the adjustment will be made automatically. The notifications will be sent out in the first week of January 2024.

The Citizen's Income provides reliable security for people in crisis situations or after losing their job in order to successfully make their way back into working life and guarantees a decent minimum subsistence level, taking individual circumstances into account.
